Back to book of remembrance.

On 22 April 2003 Ed Harwood went “way over yonder.”

The tribute to the life and times of Ed was an event which will remain a treasured memory to all who attended.

In true Caribbean style, complete with Rum Shack, Calypso players and scorching sunshine, Ed’s spirit came over us all in a final, joyous farewell.

And at 5.00 in the afternoon, gentle squadrons of balloons flew in honour of "Sunray", taking him softly into the wind and on to his final resting place.

We’ll all remember Ed with the same love and sense of caring he held for those close to himself. And we’ll none of us ever forget the bravery and determination of Penny Harwood, publicly holding off the shadow of bereavement to send Ed off with a party he’d have been so proud of.

Just as Ed was himself, you were as solid as a rock Penny. Thank you, from everyone who was there, for making our final memories of Ed as glorious as the sun which shone that day.
